First Look of: Will You Be Matched

In The Society, everything is chosen for you. What to watch, what to eat, what job you have…whom you marry. When citizens turn 17 they are called to a matching ceremony, where they are matched to their ideal mate. They are destined to marry and start a family with that person. But what happens when they find love with someone else instead?

Please keep in mind that these are my personal opinions. I’m not trying to offend you or put you down, I’m only trying to help you improve your roleplay.
[[MORE]]Although I’ve never read the series, your url gave me a good general impression of what the roleplay would be like and it’s easy to remember which helps people find you again. I’m not too fond of the theme, I don’t get the color scheme and I’m not a fan of the monochrome trend. Maybe if you changed it to colors that are more fitting to the theme of the roleplay it could work, but as it is I’m confused why you choose to go with green. The font you used for the sidelinks and the title is a bit hard to read as well, for example you have to look closely to make out the Ridgely for the Home button. Plot-wise your sibebar description is great, it definitely makes me want to read more and see what you’ve got to offer. I might think about editing the full plot a bit though, it’s a bit confusing to people who haven’t read the books, and even with the extra information you give later on I’m left wondering who exactly Cassia is and what the classifications of people mean. Maybe put a short link with a brief description of what happened in the book, which would make it easier for people to read through the plot and understand exactly what’s going on. Rule wise you seem to have covered all the bases, with the exception of Mature Content. I’d suggest adding a section on that and saying if it’s allowed or not and if people should put it under a read more. Something that should go along with that section is asking people to put trigger warnings in their tags or before what they’ve written so players can be aware of that. Although I like what you’ve done with the character page, I might add something about whether or not the character is open or closed so that people can see that before they get really excited about playing someone. Similarly, if you plan on having a lot more characters it might help to have just a simple page with links that go to open/closed, male/female, etc roles. Just so people aren’t left searching. You’ve only posted one bio, so there’s not a lot for me to go on, but compared to your plot description the quality of writing seems to have gone down a bit. I’d ask someone to read through it or, if you don’t have anyone near you, to simply read it out loud before you post it. Most mistakes and sentences that sound odd can be fixed this way. Your application format looks good and includes everything that’s important. I like how you’ve added the places roleplayers can have their characters visit, but again, the monochrome theme gets in the way and removes a lot of the personality out of the places, making it all look sort of the same. Your navigation looks wonderful and it’s really easy to find what you need from it as it’s separated neatly. You seem nice and approachable as an admin, I would maybe suggest not using gifs and instead signing off as Admin (initial or name) because, especially with a theme like yours, the gifs are the only thing popping out to people. Other than that I think you’ve done a great job! I don’t think I’ve seen any roleplays centered around this book. You’ve done a great job translating the idea into something that’s usable for a roleplay and I’m sure that with some general improvements you’ll be something to watch out for.

Anonymous asked: Who could play Ian Somerhalder's sister/twin? She would be aroun his age and have similar personality traits to Ian's gifs?

I’m not the best at Face-claim help nonny, but I think Katie McGrath (29) and Alexandra Daddario (27) could fit. Possibly Anne Hathaway (30) too. I hope I was able to help you out a bit!

Taylor Reviews: Have a Chat

With an estimated 2,267,283,742 users world wide the internet is well and truly everywhere. Information flows freely and quickly with hardly any effort at all. It connects you to people from all over the world in just a few simple clicks.
Chatrooms bring something face to face life can’t - anonymity. This anonymity brings the chance to be whoever you want to be. You can let your inhibitions fly and say what you want to say with little chance of it affecting you in the long run.
But what if that stranger you spent hours chatting to last night about your feelings and trusting with every deep, dark, secret is actually that awkward girl who sits behind you everyday in Science? Or what if that cute boy you’ve had a crush on for awhile now is actually a group of his friends laughing at you behind the screen? Or worse, what if it was the teacher you hate the most?
For the residents of Hava Hills, CA this is just the case.

Please keep in mind that these are my personal opinions. I’m not trying to offend you or put you down, I’m only trying to help you improve your roleplay.
[[MORE]]First Glance: Your URL and avatar are clear in what they are about and don’t give people the wrong idea. However, it did made me think about how a chat roleplay would work and function as well as a normal roleplay could. Your main page is well set up for the theme you are going for, at the risk of seeming a bit unprofessional. The bright colors don’t always work well together, and compared to other themes I’ve seen it’s a bit plain. Although the chat element is very prominent and the fact that you’ve been around for a long time is a great way for people to see that you guys have a strong presence.
Plot: I think you’ve done a wonderful job with both the side plot and the full plot. They’re intriguing and help people understand what the roleplay is about without being too cluttered. One thing I would work on is explaining why Hava Hills is special compared to someplace else. I understand that it’s just the place where you chose to set your roleplay, but if you’re going to mention that specifically then you might want there to be some experiment with social interaction or something else that’s driving everyone to the chat room.
Characters: You’ve done a good job with the characters, and of mixing oc’s with your own bios. There’s a nice age range going on which will work well with the sort of plot you have in mind, and there seems to be a mix of diversity in them. Everyone has a couple of connections, which will ease new people into the roleplay and even though the bios aren’t all exactly the same length there doesn’t seem to be any information lacking in them.
Writing Style: First off, I’m really glad you didn’t continue the webchat feel by using text-speak. Instead the more informative feel gets the information across and you keep the language interesting enough to have people want to read more. The character biographies are fun to read, and because you have a few OC’s the writing style for those isn’t repetitive. As far as I could tell there’s no glaring grammar or spelling errors either, keeping the feel of your writing professional and put together.
Graphics and Layout: While I do really love what you’ve done with the character graphics, as I mentioned before the main page looks a little dry. The plain text and the font you are using aren’t very appealing for the eye, and although I understand why you chose them I feel like there’s another way to bring the theme across without loosing the creative side of things. I’d suggest maybe using something like the xx Admin Casey graphic you have underneath the guide on how to use the chat or maybe using a typewriter font to at least make there be some distinction between normal text and graphics. One other thing that I think might make your posts stand out more is if your background is darker than your posts, that can just highlight the information you want people to see in a better way.
Navigation: For the most part you’ve done a great job in this area. There wasn’t anything that I had a lot of trouble finding and your links seem to all be in order. Maybe I missed it, but because you’ve got so many face-claims it might be helpful to have there be a masterlist of who’s already used/taken, that way people won’t have to go through the whole bunch of characters in order to find the one they’d like to see. In addition, it might help to add a link to an App count somewhere in your navigation, just for players to see who they’re up against or if you received their audition or not. Also, I might specify what chatrooms there are, and if there are any where people are aware of who their talking to. I just got a little confused as to how that whole process worked, not mechanically but with the characters themselves.
Application Process: Your application looks nice and like it covers all the ground that needs to be covered. However, the link on the top should say View Application not View Applications. It just clears up that it’s a link to the app and not to previous people who’ve applied. I’d also suggest asking people to write the character sample in character, just because it shows you how well they connect to them and how they’ll portray them. I find it also helps roleplayers get into their potential character’s head before having to play them.
Admins: You seem nice and friendly when answering anons, and I know it must be difficult with the original creator gone. But you’ve done a great job with keeping the roleplay on it’s feet and establishing that you’re the main admin now.
Anything Else: I like that you’ve given just enough information for players to know what’s around Hava and to see the time of day, temperature, etc. There’s one link that’s broken, which is to the map of Hava so I’d either remove the link or add something to it.
One thing that would intimidate me if I was a new player is seeing that you’ve been around for such a long time. It’s often really hard to integrate new players with the old and to get them caught up on what has happened in Hava before they came. I’m sure you already do this, I just thought I’d point it out in case you don’t yet, but it might be helpful to new players to get a welcoming message from you or one of the players where they get some of the most important information that has transpired and someone to whom they can go to for any questions.
Overall: Overall, you’ve done a fantastic job! It’s clear why you’ve stuck around so long and the dedication to your roleplay shows. There’s just the few things I would consider changing, the theme and some clarifications in the plot and chat system, but other than that I really don’t have much else to comment on. Keep doing what you’re doing and I’m sure you’ll run just as smoothly as you are now.
